Only God Could Orchestrate This!
I have to share…. if you ever wonder whether God orchestrates things for us to delight us, reassure us, and provide for us, among other things, just look for them.
God is always working behind the scenes for our best!
And one way He shows that is through His divine orchestration…His attention to the finite details of our lives.
I’ve been in a great study on the names of God (see below). It’s supposed to be studied using one name per week, reflecting on that name all week long. Sometimes it takes me almost a week, or I even study two a week if I’ve had the time, but I’ve just been doing it at my pace, and as I finish one name I move to the next one.
Today is Valentine’s Day. It’s been eighteen years since I’ve received a romantic Valentine.
But today? On this day God gave me the most incredible Valentine!
I had finished up the name study from this week, and guess what the name for God was for today?
HUSBAND!
Only God could have orchestrated my study arriving on this name for Him on Valentine’s Day!
I am beyond delighted! My heart is so touched by His tender loving care. He knows my loneliness, my lack of strength at times, my sheer determination to walk this journey in a way that pleases Him, no matter how hard it is.
And today, He wanted to make it very, very plain to me that He sees me, He knows me, and He loves me with the precious love of a husband.
In the Old Testament, God refers to Himself as “husband”.
“Your husband is your maker.
His name is Yaweh, Lord of Hosts.
The Lord called you as if you were a
a wife abandoned and in grief.
A wife who married young and was rejected,” says your Lord.
Isaiah 54: 5-6
Because Ann Spangler, the author of the study I’m using, says it so well, I am going to write here some of her words.
“God’s passionate love for Israel is reflected in the Hebrew word Ish meaning “husband”. When it is applied to God in the Hebrew Scriptures, it symbolizes the ideal relationship between God and Israel (as those who have made God Lord of our lives, we are His chosen people, thus what applies to Israel applies to us).
God is the perfect husband—loving, forgiving, and faithful, providing for and protecting His people. This metaphor of monogamous marriage between God and His people is strengthened in the New Testament, which reveals Jesus as the loving, sacrificial bridegroom of the church. Our destiny, our greatest purpose as God’s people, is to become His bride.” (page 99)
God told me a long time ago that He is my husband. Lately, I have been digging deeper, opening my heart even more, and asking for God to reveal in a new way His love for me. And I’ve been trying to understand and receive the significance of Him being my husband.
I’d say today that God blew me out of the water!
I am again reassured of His great love for me, and that He finds delight in me, just like an amazing husband would.
I hope you have enjoyed my sharing of this personal “orchestration” and that you can take it as your own message too.
Happy Great Love Day to you!
Hugs and love,
Passionista Mimi
