Living With Gusto, Mimi's Messages

Our Senses Are A Gift

Yesterday I was enjoying my beautiful yard, and all the different kinds and colors of plants, trees, bushes, and flowers. Just looking at them gives me a sense of peace. And when the bird sounds are added, my meditative mood increases. (Except for the crows. I’m still trying to love the crows.)

And while I was soaking in the view, (Zinnias have such a vibrancy to them!) as often happens, I praised God and thanked Him for my sight.

Then, I felt a little tug like I should post a reminder for us all. We do take these things for granted, and I know there are many who are not able to experience all the gifts of their senses.

So this is your loving reminder.

Pause and thank God when you can taste that amazing meal.

Or when you hear lovely music or your grandchild’s laugh.

When you are able to feel the hugs and touches of those you love, thank God.

As you smell the beautiful smells of nature, thank Him.

And when you are able to enjoy sight in all its many ways, thank God.

He has truly blessed us with these amazing senses.
