Inspiration, Living With Gusto, Songs That Speak To Me

The Goodness of God

On a Wednesday night a while back, my friend and I led worship at our church. She’d picked a song I didn’t know very well, “The Goodness of God”. As we practiced before service, I was caught up in this song, with almost a vibration humming in my spirit. Don’t you just love when Holy Spirit quickens His Word in you?

All week that song kept weaving through me. Every single day! I love songs and I’m always singing. But y’all! The same song? For six straight days?

“All my life You have been faithful” wound through me in everything I did. At night as I went to sleep the words, “and all my life You have been so, so good,” resonated within my heart and filled me with gratitude.

I finally asked God why this song had grabbed me like that. He told me,

“It’s your testimony. It’s ingrained into every fiber of your being. I have proven to you over and over that I am faithful! I will never leave. I am always there to provide, comfort, and deliver. I AM GOOD!”

And it’s your testimony too–no matter what the enemy of your soul says or the lies he uses to distract and take away from God’s goodness in your life.

The TRUTH is—God is faithful to you. You can always, always depend on His love, His forgiveness, His salvation, His guidance and wisdom, His healing of your broken heart, and His comfort.

He, alone, is someone who is one hundred percent faithful to His promises to you.

I’m pretty certain that some of you think you are not musical and can’t sing, but I don’t believe it. Why? Because we are made in God’s image and He is musical. It’s been said that music is the expression of our emotions. Your spirit—His spirit in you—sings! Find a praise channel on the radio and fill up with the songs you hear!

I want to speak these words of life into you:

I pray that His words, His music, settle into your soul. That as you rise in the morning there will be a song of praise on your lips, and as you lay down at night there will be a song of gratitude in your heart.
Amen.

May you be filled with God’s goodness in the days ahead!

Love and hugs, Passionista Mimi
