Firestarter

Do you have a “firestarter” in your spirit? You know, something that can easily ignite the kindling of shame, guilt, and accusation that the enemy has so carefully laid?

Firestarter=the lies that pile up, the beliefs you base all your self-loathing on, the guilt that eats away at you.

Dearest friend, that’s the enemy at work, intending your destruction. He’s the one who so deviously tears apart your image of who God made you to be.

And then comes an innocent comment, a strange event, rejection, sickness, or really anything common to humans, and on that day it’s the spark that ignites the well-laid firestarter in your soul. And kaboom–instant raging fire! Response that is based on all the lies and falsehoods you’ve built your life on.

But God…

He is the Living Water to douse those flames.

He’s the One who loves you, forgives you, helps you start again. He heals that wounded heart. He speaks real truth into your spirit. He calls you His child. He calls you by name. He restores you.

Tell the enemy to shut up and be gone. Start listening to the Lover of your soul who wants you to live fully and with freedom.
